We started this discussion about online coaching with a post from Pete Rubish, an accomplished powerlifter and online coach who’s had athletes go 27/31 on the platform. To finish out the series, we’ll hear from legendary Hall of Fame powerlifter Steve Goggins, the first man to squat 1102lbs and whose squat record of 1032lbs at a bodyweight of 240lbs stayed unchallenged for several years. In this video Goggins goes over some tips that will help make your online coaching experience more successful as well as deal breakers that could end the coach/client relationship. After watching the video, check out my interview with Steve in the September/October 2015 issue of Power Magazine available online and at Barnes & Noble and BooksAMillion!
Steve Goggins is an inductee into the York Barbell Hall of Fame. His career spanned 25 years and during that time he never suffered an injury that he couldn’t treat with ice and rest. At age 52, Steve is closing in on an 800lb deadlift after a successful surgery to correct a genetic hip issue. Steve is now the USPA Chairman for the State of Georgia and coaches powerlifters from across the nation online and in his fully equipped garage gym in Marietta, GA.
